John Moran graduated with first class honors in civil engineering in 1982, chartered in 1986 becoming principal engineer in the structural section of a London borough; consulting in strucutral engineering and responsible for building regulation. Graduated with distinction at Masters level in geotechnical engineering in 1990; Principal lecturer and consultant in geotechnical engineering on projects varying from the Lime House Link tunnels in London through to full load testing of Westminster bridge.
He became a associate director of the Steel Construction Institute in 1992 moving back to consultancy and lecturing in geotechnical and structural engineering to graduate engineers at the Royal School of Military Engineering in 2010. He served on the Institution of Civil Engineers Structural Panel for 10 years, on the Eurocode Expert Panel for 4 years and as an NHBC Council member for 8 years.

Martin Qualters has been chartered for over 30 years and is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
